Three Comfort Food Favorites, One Epic Bite.

Smoky hot dogs piled high with hearty sloppy Joe sauce and creamy queso. A flavorful and messy twist that everyone’s going to swoon over.

Ingredients

For Meat Sauce

1 lb. Ground Beef

1/2 Yellow Onion, chopped

1/2 Green Pepper, chopped

2 Garlic Cloves, minced

1 tbsp. Packed Brown Sugar

8 oz. Tomato Sauce

1/4 cup Ketchup

1/4 cup BBQ Sauce

1 tsp. Yellow Mustard

1 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce

1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder

Salt + Pepper, to taste

For Hot Dogs

8 Hot Dogs

8 Hot Dog Buns

Mateo’s Medium Queso Blanco, as needed 

Chives, optional for garnish

Instructions

  1. Add ground beef, yellow onion, and green pepper to a large skillet over medium-high heat. 

  2. Cook until the meat has browned and the vegetables have softened. Drain if necessary. 

  3. Toss in a couple minced garlic cloves, brown sugar, and pour over the remaining ingredients for the meat sauce. Mix together and bring to a simmer. 

  4. Meanwhile, grill the hot dogs until slightly browned with crispy edges. Add them to your favorite bun and pour over the Sloppy Joe meat mixture along with desired amount of queso. Garnish with chives, if desired.
