What is Salsa?

“Salsa” translates literally as “sauce”, and encompasses a wide variety of forms. When most Americans speak of Salsa, they are typically referring to a condiment made with tomatoes, onions and chiles.

Is Salsa Healthy?

Salsa is a healthful addition to a balanced diet. Salsas are low in calories and contain little or no fat. Many of the ingredients contain vitamins and minerals. Tomatoes, chiles and cilantro contain Vitamins A & C. Some ingredients, like tomatoes, contribute potassium & lycopene.

Is Mateo's Vegan?

It isn’t certified but yes Mateo’s would be considered vegan as its made with all plant products and doesn’t contain any meat or animal byproducts. There could be one possible exception with the Hatch Chile as it contains Sugar and some sugar is created using Bone Char.

How long does Mateo's Last after opening?

It depends. There are many factors out of our control that determine shelf life after opening. If all of the following criteria are met: 1. The product is not allowed to warm to room temperature 2. Headspace in the jar is minimized 3. Product is not cross contaminated with other food or utensils Generally speaking, the product should be good for 2 weeks after opening.

Is Salsa OK on a Keto Diet?

Salsa is Keto Friendly and packs a flavor punch without adding a ton of sodium and sugar. Mateo's Mild, Medium and Hot contains no added sugar and only has 2g of Carbohydrates per serving.
